Not Every Guy Is A Jackass

Holding the hand of a guy, she smiled with shyness
Who was that guy, I wondered, none of my business

Do I have any chance, hmm?? Staring them furtively
Seeking confirmation that they were just friends

Whoa, whoa, what made me think that?? Am I foolish
Or naïve or innocent?? No, that was ridiculous! Leave it!!

Ohh, I got a train to catch, hurry up, and walk faster
Missing trains by seconds is more embarrassing

And the train is 15 minutes late, what do I do now?
Late trains are meant for something, I realized

Within 2-3 minutes she arrived, this time, alone
She also wants to catch the train! Wow!!

Wait, wait!! That doesn’t mean anything..
Doesn’t it? Coincidences aren’t accidents!!

I have time to know her by observing her
Found a place to know something interesting

While staring her, I found the peace in the rush,
The solitude in the crowd and beauty in detachment

Coincidently our eyes met and it showed the reflection
Of her soul, her inner voice, her entire way of being

And, to my disappointment, the way she looked at me
Like I’m prying on her, passing my time looking at pretty face

Those suspicious, skeptical eyes were giving me the signals of
She misunderstood me, I’m not the kind of guy you think I am

I know it’s very difficult for a girl to trust any stranger,
In today’s heinous world of rapist minds and eve teasers

But I had a crush on you, and I wasn’t following you,
I was genuinely interested to know you, but not from now

You think I’m a jackass who stares every beautiful girl that passes
Not every guy is a jackass who wants pass his time anyhow

The crazy fact is, there are the guys who respect girls,
And genuinely interested in them. Yeah, we will never know how
you feel in these social scenarios, but look at us through our eyes,
Not through those hypocrites who are disgrace to humanity.

When The Unknown Future Drives..

“But you decided that you are going to do homework first and then play,” said Shikha to her friend Saumya.

“Yeah! But I changed my mind. I can’t focus on studies due to excitement of playing,” replied Saumya.

“See, you are not playing good as per your natural game.”

“No, I’m playing good.”

“It feels like you have something in mind. You are not fully committed.”

“No. I’m into it.”

“No, you are not.”

“Yeah, you are right!”

“What is the matter?”

“Study. I get tired when I go home and do not feel like studying. And, due to worries of completing studies, I’m not able to play my natural game either. I don’t know whether I’ll be in a mood to study.”

“Stop thinking about future. You can’t live fully if you are worried about future.”

“But I need to think about it.”

“Yes, you should. Otherwise we would be robots who doesn’t have anything in mind than thinking only about present. But not by worrying about it; but by hoping that it will be just fine.”

The crazy fact is, to live in the moment; we need to think about the future that everything will turn out to be right.

Increasing The Comfort Zone

“If tyre of your bike was punctured, why didn’t you ask your colleague to give you a lift to bus stop?” asked father to his son who recently joined a new company.

“But, I am new there,” replied son.

“So, what’s problem in asking for help? You walked 2 kilometers.”

“It was awkward to ask. We are all new there. We haven’t interacted much. I barely know anyone. It felt uncomfortable.”

“Son, the crazy fact is, you need to get uncomfortable to increase the comfort zone.”

Ineffectual Into Meaningful

ID-100103175

“Nine years ago, everybody thought that you will be ineffectual in life because of your brawls, dangerous group tussels & participation in dirty politics. But today, a skinny bad boy turned into a huge good boy. Look at you, so decent, happy & cheerful. Even I thought, at least you’ll be facing a half murder trial by today,” said mother on the opening ceremony of gym of his son, wiping her eyes.

Both smiled exquisitely.

“No, Ma!” replied son, “When I started gymming, it gave me a true joy. Looking in the mirror, pumping biceps & having sense of being healthy is more fascinating than those nonsense brawls.”

“Surely, it is.”

“Then I decided that one day I’ll have my own gym where everyone will gather to gain health & be happy. When I’m in gym, I always realize that there are more beautiful things to do, where everyone is driven by love & care. Supporting & guiding people to remain healthy is more exhilarating than beating people down. When I see people striving to get into shape, stay fit, though they are doing it for themselves, but it soothes me, it feels like home.”

The crazy fact is, an ineffectual life can perform wonders when led by a sense of purpose.
